Sync sounds simple: all of your stuff, on another machine. But it’s far more complicated than that.

What happens when you rename a tab group on your laptop and delete it on your desktop before they’ve talked to each other? All your stuff, your setup, your profile—gone. You have to start over.

To solve this, we couldn’t just throw everything into a database somewhere. Your data stays encrypted and local-first, which means there’s no server that knows the “right” answer when two machines disagree.
