Dia came into the world last year with a simple premise: a browser that lets you chat with your tabs. We've been building on that foundation since then — adding Skills and Memory, bringing back the sidebar, and calendar previews, connecting tools like Slack and email, and closing out the year with Tab Groups. All to help you keep context, stay organized, and move ideas forward.

In 2026, we’ll continue to build Dia as the browser that helps you get things done and move work forward. Expect more ways to organize, better support, better problem solving, and steady improvements that help ideas turn into action. 

But first, we’re kicking off the new year with a batch of refinements we polished off in 2025.

Closed tab groups used to be a headache. Now, when there are too many to show in the bookmarks bar, they neatly overflow into a single button.

We also made it easier to tell groups apart and manage them as you go:

Creating a group from a tab now adds top-level context menu actions

Command-click–created groups automatically ungroup once only the original tab remains

All small changes, but together, tab groups are now easier to live in. Big thanks to Conner, who snuck all of this in right before the holiday.

Notion fixed the workspace favicon issue, and now all your favicons restore instantly along with your tabs.

 Updated block lists mean more ads blocked and fewer issues with broken sites. 

 With a refined design, switching between tabs showing different side panels states is now completely flicker free. 

 The bookmark interstitial now shows the full folder tree inline for easier destination selection. 

 Chat can now render lists with correct markers/indentation, avoids lists‑in‑tables, and can auto‑correct slightly off list formatting. 

 If a page‑load selector never appears, attachments now use a best‑effort scrape instead of timing out. 

In the last two weeks of the year, I took my first real winter vacation in years. It was wonderful. Lots of time with family and friends! I started rewatching Mad Men, went deep on the 1964 World’s Fair in New York (and some nerdy New York history podcasts), went to the gym, and decided I really do like Fred Again. I’m feeling recharged — and newly inspired for 2026. I have a personal aspiration to turn Dia into a browser that the people who write shows like Mad Men, produce nerdy podcasts, and make DJ mixes like Fred Again will want to use.
