This week’s release is a grab bag of speed and stability. We tied up loose ends to make everyday browsing faster and more predictable, with a mix of fixes you asked for and improvements we’ve been eager to ship. That’s it, that’s the intro.

Tab Groups (introduced last week, woo!) now get their color from the site’s favicon, or from color matching in the URL bar. It’s not only delightful, the wayfinding helps indicate exactly what’s in your group.

—see the time to your next meeting, right in your tab. A favorite from Arc, the status will be live in both the sidebar and the topbar to help you never miss a meeting again. 

Get even more momentum in chat. That means full-context answers, no lost tabs, and progress even when uploads don’t cooperate.

Dia can now read the entire content in a Google Sheet, not just the visible first 100 rows. That means responses to questions about all content, and connections across sheet

Links you click in chat on Ask on Page won't replace your current view anymore. Instead, they'll open a new foreground tab inside your active tab group (when applicable), so you keep your context and keep moving.

I shipped two fixes I’ve been chasing for a while. First, a speculative fix for the “double traffic lights” on macOS—those duplicated window controls that sometimes show up after unlocks or during fullscreen transitions. Please keep an eye out, and let me know if you see it again. Second, I’ve addressed white flashes in dark mode when closing or switching tabs. Notion or Slack received a targeted fix and there’s a true dark background behind their UI now enforced to remove the flashing.

Keyboard shortcuts now respect your layout. 

Shortcuts like ⌘Z in Google Docs or Figma now work as expected on non‑US layouts (e.g., AZERTY, Dvorak).

Middle‑click without losing your place.

 Back, forward, and reload entries now support middle‑click or ⌘‑click to open in a new tab, so you can explore navigation/history items without replacing your current view. Tabs will open in the background by default, and you can add Shift to open in the foreground.

 If you rely on extensions that use the Chromium side panel (hello, Rovo at Atlassian), Dia now supports them. Since Dia is built on Chromium, compatible extensions can render their side‑panel UI right inside Dia, so your tools show up where you work.

I’ve been looking for music that helps me focus while programming, especially during some recent website updates for Dia Browser. I came across this album in a roundabout way, through an Instagram Reel of Gustavo Cerati (frontman of the Argentine ’80s band Soda Stereo) during a DJ set. That led me down a rabbit hole finding his later work which went more ambient and electronic.
