What’s New in Dia v0.44.0

Power and personality are at the forefront of this week's Dia. Chat feels sharper and Memory is easier to shape. And each change makes Dia feel a little more yours.

A more capable Chat

Chat is where the action happens. It's where the internet and your personal context meet. And this week includes a package of updates that make Chat smarter, more dependable, and even better in your day-to-day.

Dia Browser

🗂️ @history includes Chats. Mention @history in any Chat or Skill to pull in recent Chats and websites, bringing more context to your present task.

📄 Smarter PDFs. Our PDF reader is now more accurate and comprehensive, so you can reference documents without fear of missing info.

🎨 Write and Code polish. Writing and coding are two of the most common functions in Chat. Drafts and code blocks are now cleaner and easier to read, whether you’re writing or debugging.

🫰 Try Skills instantly. Test a Skill from the [Skills Gallery](diabrowser.com/skills) on any tab, no install required. Just click Try Skill in the pop-up menu.

🔎 Better tab attachments. When you @-mention tabs, the dropdown hides the ones you’ve already mentioned, making it faster to add the context you need.

🤖 More models, fewer errors. If something goes wrong, Chat now switches to backup AI models so your work continues uninterrupted.

More personal Memories

Memory means less repeating yourself. This release gives you more control — choose when and where Memory is used, and decide what to forget. As you tailor Memory to your needs, Chat becomes more relevant and helpful with every interaction.

🪞 Sharper answers. We’ve made some prompt updates under the hood to help Memory focus on what matters, reduce repetition, and adapt as you go.

👥 Profile-level control. You can now enable or disable Memory for each Profile in Settings. Perfect when you want to forget about work or remember your school projects.

🧹 Forget anything. It’s easy to remove Memories that aren’t relevant or feel incorrect. Click Personalized with Memory, then use the menu to delete a specific item.

🗣 Per-Chat Personalization. Temporarily disable Personalization (which includes both Memory and written instructions) by clicking the signature button on the top right corner. Chat will answer neutrally until you flip it back on.

Plus some major boosts to performance and security:

  • When browsing in a split tab, open links on the righthand side by holding Shift+Option while clicking. A simple shortcut to keep things tidySafety alerts are more accurate thanks to improvements in how Dia detects real risks and filters out the noise. You’ll only be notified when something really needs your attention.
  • Download notifications are clearer and safer they no longer show the website address where a file came from. This helps prevent confusion or spoofing by tricky domains, so what you see is exactly what you downloaded.
  • The downloads menu also pops up when it should and includes all of your previous downloads thanks to some fixes under the hood.
  • Profiles that aren’t being used will automatically unload to free up memory and keep Dia fast. To switch profiles, just click the toggle in the top left corner.
  • Bluetooth dialogs now display the full web address when something’s trying to connect, so you can clearly see exactly who is making a request before you approve it.

We'll be back with more next week!

Dia’s more powerful and personal with every new release. And it’s all thanks to your feedback. If anything’s not right — with Chat, Memory, or something else — please let us know!

Thanks for the memories,
